Windows7 Ultimate upgrade from Vista.  Some of MyPictures are half-grey....??
I can't seem to find anyone else with this problem, so here I am....I upgraded to win7 ultimate from Vista Home Premium last week. I went to retrieve images today out of a folder in MyPictures and every single image in the subfolder was half-grey- the bottom half. If I open the image it seems OK but it is a large folder with many images that I use for press releases and I can't find what I am looking for when they are half blacked out. HAs anyone seen this before, and if so, is there a fix?

Hi, It sounds wired. I would appriciate if you can capture a screenshot of those picture images and upload via skydrive and let me know the URL by replying this thread. For detailed steps on how to upload files with SkyDrive, please refer to: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproui/thread/4fc10639-02db-4665-993a-08d865088d65 The above Windows Live ID is ONLY for collecting troubleshooting information. Please do NOT send your questions to it. For any new questions, please post in the forums so that more MSFT, MVP and community members can help you. Several questions need your clarification: 1. Is it true that all the pictures under My Pictures encounter this issue? 2. Which program is used to open the image? 3. Are they half black or half gray? Mostly, the icon issue is caused by cache corrupted issue. If any icon problem is encoutnered, please try to take the following steps to troubleshoot the problem. 1. Boot the computer into Safe Mode. 2. Launch Task Manager using the CTRL+SHIFT+ESC. 3. In the Process tab, right-click on the Explorer.exe process and select End Process. 4. From the File menu of Task Manager, select New Task (Run…) 5. Type CMD.EXE and press Enter. 6. In the Command Prompt window, run the commands one by one: CD /d %userprofile%\AppData\Local DEL IconCache.db /a Regards,Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
